Antipodean steampunk card pack
Printed from original designs in Darwin, Australia
Australia Post regular post approved size envelope
The steampunk aesthetic has arisen from science-fiction dating back to Jules Verne and his contemporaries. The term was not coined until the late 1980s, although it has been retroactively applied to many works created earlier.
Steampunk mashes together anachronistic technologies - particularly anything steam-powered - with ultra-modern or futuristic technologies, resulting in stylistic Victorian-era high tech imaginings, usually replete with cogs.
This card pack features five designs with an Australian theme and a steampunk flavour. There's klangaroo, the robotic kangaroo, Mr Frilly Dandy in his reptilian finery, the circus lyrebird with a built-in unicycle, clockwork buffalo skulls plugged into the simulation and full metal seahorses swimming amongst the chain-reed.
