Nankeen Night Heron
Found across much of Australia, the Nankeen night heron prefers wet environments like swamps, streams and billabongs. As the name suggests, they are primarily nocturnal birds and the species genus name Nycticorax means ‘night raven’ in Ancient Greek.
The night heron spends much of its time seeking small aquatic critters upon which to feed, though they’ll also eat some insects, small reptiles and amphibians. They’re obviously too busy with food to bother much with nest making as their nests are often little more than a ring of sticks designed to stop their pale green-blue eggs from rolling away.

glasses slip cases
Our glasses cases have a sturdy canvas outer printed with our own designs. They are fully lined and feature a padded layer to provide protection for your glasses cases while taking up much less room in your bag than a hard carry case.
They fit most glasses, being 10cm across and around 20cm tall.
They're durable and washable and customers report the fun bright prints make them easy to find in your bag.
Handmade with love
Every fabric used in our glasses cases is designed by Boo at Susurrus Studio in Darwin River, located an hour south of Darwin in the hot tropics of Australia. Boo draws much of her inspiration from her bush environment, especially the birds and flora of the Top End and across Australia.
The fabrics are printed with care in Sydney. When they arrive, Boo steps away from the design table and leans into the sewing machine to hand craft each item.
