Welcome swallow
Welcome swallows live across all of Australia, making them them the most widespread of all species of swallow in the country. They are highly adaptable birds, living in urban and rural areas everywhere from deserts to wetlands. They build mud nests wherever they find a spot, be it a tree, a bridge or the side of a block of flats.
The welcome swallow got its rather lovely name from sailors, who, in the days before GPS, knew that the sight of one of these birds meant that land wasn’t far away.
Product variants
glasses slip cases
Our glasses cases have a sturdy canvas outer printed with our own designs. They are fully lined and feature a padded layer to provide protection for your glasses cases while taking up much less room in your bag than a hard carry case.
They fit most glasses, being 10cm across and around 20cm tall.
They're durable and washable and customers report the fun bright prints make them easy to find in your bag.
Handmade with love
Every fabric used in our glasses cases is designed by Boo at Susurrus Studio in Darwin River, located an hour south of Darwin in the hot tropics of Australia. Boo draws much of her inspiration from her bush environment, especially the birds and flora of the Top End and across Australia.
The fabrics are printed with care in Sydney. When they arrive, Boo steps away from the design table and leans into the sewing machine to hand craft each item.
