Sacred lotus
Sacred lotus are water plants native to the tropical north of Australia. With huge pink flowers and large pad shaped leaves, they stretch over billabongs and wetlands where they can get their roots in to the mud. If conditions are unfavourable for germination, the seeds can remain dormant in the ground for hundreds of years, waiting for better conditions to regenerate.
The top of this clutch frame measures 23.5cm across. The height of the clutch (not including the closure) is approximately 15cm. The base measures approximately 29cm x 10cm. The final image in the carousel shows the fabric used for the clutch lining.

Handmade with love
Every fabric used in our bags and purses is designed by Boo at Susurrus Studio in Darwin River, located an hour south of Darwin in the hot tropics of Australia. Boo draws much of her inspiration from her bush environment, especially the birds and flora of the Top End and across Australia.
The fabrics are printed with care in Sydney. When they arrive, Boo steps away from the design table and leans into the sewing machine to hand craft each item.
