Flying foxes
Black flying foxes and little red flying foxes are both common in the Northern Territory. They love warm, moist habitats, often beside a water source. Over the course of the year, they move according to wherever their favourite plants are flowering and fruiting, often returning to places where their babies are born.
A flying fox can spread 60,000 seeds in one night, meaning they are wonderful little eco-warriors, helping to maintain genetic diversity important for healthy ecosystems.
