Plover/masked lapwing
Plovers love to nest in stupid places – like the middle of the school oval. Having nested, they defend the nest against intruders (i.e. your kids at recess) with the vigour one would expect of a masked superhero. While many people hate them for this, others applaud their exceptional parenting. Perhaps they wouldn’t have to parent so exceptionally if they chose more suitable real estate.
This design is part of the Controversial Birds series. These are the birds that some people love and others love to hate. They keep us awake at night, raid our bins, dig up our gardens, eat our fruit, attack us, or just ... look at us funny.

Our tea towels are designed by Boo at Susurrus Studio in Darwin River.
Boo uses a variety of techniques to design the fabrics including painting, drawing, lino prints and digital photography and drawing.
